| Galactic Voyage's 16th Anniversary | |
Today we are celebrating Galactic Voyage's 16th Anniversary! l would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the Star Wars fans who have visited and enjoyed Galactic Voyage these many years. I started the website back in 1999 when there was a frenzy and buzz of having a new Star Wars trilogy to look forward to much like we do today with The Force Awakens. During those early years, the Internet was still new and fans started to share information on a plethora of Star Wars websites. I was fortunate enough to make connections with great Star Wars fans like Mark Newbold of Jedi News who was running Lightsabre at that time. We are truly in the “Golden Age of Star Wars” as we go to war on the Battlefront next week, join our friends from the Ghost on new adventures weekly with Star Wars Rebels, and in just over a month we will all be tearing up as the title ‘Star Wars’ scrolls across screens throughout the world once again! The Force Awakens will take Star Wars fans back to our childhood memories of awe and wonder and bring in an entire new generation of fans. Just when we think we have it all and are basking in the glow of all the Star Wars we have been enjoying, we still have more Star Wars Rebels, Rogue One, Episodes VIII, & IX, the Han Solo spin-off film, and much more to look forward to in the coming years! What a great time to be a Star Wars fan! I always try to do something new each year and this year I have changed the look of the site to a more classic feel and I started a Galactic Voyage YouTube page. Galactic Voyage has provided a vast amount of video through the years with tons more content to come! So, I wanted to provide fans with another means in which to access and share it all. I am getting videos added regularly, so check back often! Be sure to follow Galactic Voyage on all the Social Media outlets and I thank you again for all of the support! Today's first new video is Rebels Rebels Recon #2.06: Inside "Wings of the Master." In this installment of Rebels Recon, StarWars.com looks at the landmark “Wings of the Master” episode — featuring the origin of the B-wing and major developments for Hera. Regarding revelations about Hera’s past, the Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo says, “It was important for us to establish that she has this love of flight.” And executive producer Dave Filoni asserts that her desire to fly reflects a need to get off the ground and the danger she grew up in. The B-wing’s coolest feature is the gyroscopic cockpit, says Hidalgo — the pilot always stays upright. Plus, the starfighter wasn’t really seen in the original trilogy. This was a chance to really see what it could do. What does Hera’s promotion to Phoenix Leader mean? “I think it means a great deal,” says voice actress Vanessa Marshall. “I have more tools at my disposal to get stuff done.” Finally, host Andi Gutierrez tracks down Pablo Hidalgo to ask a fan question, “What happened to Wolffe and Gregor?” The answer: They stayed on Seelos, retired.
