Music Section Updated

Today I have updated the Music section with a new soundtrack! The latest addition that you can download is from the video game TIE Fighter which was released July of 1994 and features 37 tracks!

The Star Wars: TIE Fighter Video Game was the sequel to Star Wars: X-Wing, and the first game of the series that puts the player on the side of the Galactic Empire. The game begins soon after the Battle of Hoth, and with the expansions lead up to the Battle of Endor. The player assumes the role of a rookie TIE pilot, whose name in the player's guide is given as Maarek Stele. See cutscenes from the game in the Video Game Scenes section.

The game originally used MIDI files for the music which was comprised of computer sounds to make the music. Laserschwert has taken these files and enhanced them to sound like real instruments. 95% of each track is based solely on the game's MIDI files, composed by Michael Land, Clint Bajakian and Peter McConnell. The remaining 5% are little additions here and there.

They now sound really great! Enjoy!

New Star Wars Film Separate From The Sequels

Vulture has a great article about Zack Snyder who is developing a new Star Wars film outside of the Sequel Trilogy. You may remember he was asked in November if he was interested in doing Episode VII in which he replied that he wasn't. It may now be coming to light that he is instead slated for a separate Star Wars film outside of Sequel Trilogy.

He is in fact developing a Star Wars project for Lucasfilm that is set within the series’ galaxy, though parallel to the next trilogy. It will be an as-yet-untitled Jedi epic loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai, with the ronin and katana being replaced by the Force-wielding knights and their iconic lightsabers. This stand-alone film is set sometime post–Episode VI events. Be sure to read the entire article!

Star Wars Podcasting World Shake Up

Over the weekend there was big news in the world of Star Wars podcasting. Jason Swank and Jimmy McInerney (Jimmy Mac) the hosts of The ForceCast are moving on to their own production called Rebel Force Radio. This news came as a shocking blow because so many of us Star Wars fans have listened to them for years and look forward to their weekly podcast.

The good news is that they are not splitting up or quitting podcasting. However, the seemingly sudden and unannounced move seems a bit strange. Hopefully Jason and Jimmy were not "forced" (no pun intended) to leave creating the need for the new show. I always hate to see any drama in the Star Wars fan community and I hope this is something they have wanted to do starting with the announcement of new Star Wars movies and the new year. Hopefully we will know shortly.

Rebel Force Radio kicks off this Saturday, January 19th, so be sure to look for the new show with the same great content and guests and I am sure there will be a few new surprises. Listen to their Debut Promo MP3 advertisement. We wish Jason Swank and Jimmy Mac all the best on this new endevor!

You can find Rebel Force Radio at the following locations:
