E-Cards for
Father's Day |
The Official Star Wars Site has an
article reminding people of the Halmark Star Wars e-cards. The Hallmark
e-cards feature original scenes from select Star Wars movies.
Hallmark.com first introduced e-cards featuring these films in 2008.
"We know consumers enjoy connecting with the important people in their lives
through movies they love," notes Hallmark Shelly Mathews, Digital Greetings
Product Manager. "We plan to continue adding e-cards that contain memorable
scenes from the classic Lucasfilm library, since people love to send them."
The new designs include a Father's Day e-card featuring Darth Vader and has
text interspersed with scenes from the movie. An "anytime" e-card providing a
laugh with a Wookiee and Ewok is a great way for consumers to connect through a
shared love of Star Wars. Each premium e-card is available for 99 cents
(check out a preview of the Vader card here).
Hallmark's existing e-card collection also includes an Indiana Jones birthday
design and a Star Wars birthday design as well as an e-card for
anniversary celebrations, featuring Han Solo and Princess Leia from the classic
Star Wars trilogy. I know I would like to get one of the Star Wars
e-cards! Be sure to get them to your Star wars loving Dads in time for Father's
Day!

Star Wars: Robot
Chicken III |
Broadcasting &
Cable has announced that we may only see one more Star Wars: Robot Chicken.
"Adult Swim is planning to complete the Robot Chicken: Star Wars trilogy. The
network said at its upfront party Wednesday night that it is going forward with
a third, and most likely final, Star Wars themed episode of its stop-motion
series Robot Chicken (”don’t worry, we aren’t planning a prequel trilogy”).
Robot Chicken has aired two Star Wars themed episodes already, most recently
last November. The network didn’t have a launch window for the new special, but
when asked, a network executive targeted this Fall."
I guess the Prequels are out. More details to come as information about the
latest Star Wars: Robot Chicken is unveiled. Be sure to read the entire article. |

New Star Wars
Battlefront Games |
Kotaku.com has an article stating it appears that LucasArts
has more droid-slaying, lightsaber-swinging action planned in the Star Wars
Battlefront fashion, as the ESRB has rated Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron
for the PSP and Nintendo DS.
The two titles both appear to be
third-person perspective action games highlighting battles from the Star Wars
universe, shrunk down to fit on the competing platforms' LCD screens. Perhaps
these two games the younger siblings of Free Radical's aborted Star Wars
Battlefront III, which, concept art and leaked trailers aside, appears to be no
more than a bluish apparition of a game.
Kotaku contacted LucasArts to
see what's up with the two new Battlefront games and would expect to hear more
about the titles at E3. Official descriptions and ratings after
this.
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Platform:
PSP Rating: Teen Content descriptors: Fantasy Violence Rating summary:
"This is an action game in which players experience different battles from the
Star Wars universe. Presented in a third-person perspective, the game allows
players to engage in space, land, and air battles or build troops and upgrade
armies in a strategy-based mode. Players can use laser guns (i.e., blasters),
explosives, and lightsabers to destroy enemy robots (i.e., droids) and humans
who often cry out in pain when attacked. During one dramatic cutscene sequence,
an unarmed man is sliced by a lightsaber, while another character is shot in the
back with a blaster."
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite
Squadron Platform: Nintendo DS Rating: Everyone 10+ Content
descriptors: Fantasy Violence Rating summary: " Star Wars Battlefront: Elite
Squadron is an action adventure game in which players experience different
battles from the Star Wars universe. From a third-person perspective, players
engage in space battles, 'speeder bike' chases, and top-down battling. The
ground battle includes constant laserfire combined with hand-to-hand combat
using 'lightsabers.' A depleting health bar and various "yelps" indicate damage
inflicted upon certain characters."
More on these games as details arise. |

Anthony Daniels
Interview-Part 2 |
Our good friend Mark from Lightasabre has provided
the second part of a three part interview with Anthony Daniels who is best know
for his role as C-3PO.
Q - Is it a relaxed
set, does George run a relaxed set because it's got to be organized...
A - It's relaxed but
it's lickety-split, there's no...you can't afford to waste time, every minute
costs a lot of money, every sixty seconds the bill is going up and up and up, so
you can't...you know, bits fall off the costume. That's a bore, because bits
have to be stuck back on and it's wasting time.
Be sure to read the entire second part of this interview!
