Official Celebration IV Poster One of the most iconic scenes in the
entire six-movie Star Wars saga features Luke Skywalker on his home
planet of Tatooine, peering at the twin setting suns. The Star Wars
Celebration IV commemorative poster captures the ardent emotions of this scene
with stunning art by John Alvin, a world renowned artist and well known
illustrator of cinema art. Alvin created this piece specifically for Celebration
IV, to capture the essence of 30 years of Star Wars. Fans can purchase

Darth Plagueis
Novel Canceled |
Del Ray has just announced that
James Luceno’s upcoming novel about Darth Plagueis has been canceled. We first
announced the book back on June 9, 2006. James Luceno wrote Cloak of Deception,
Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, and Labyrinth of Evil.
The book was
originally scheduled for release in October 2008. In February, Luceno announced
that the novel had been put on hold due to issues surrounding the revelation of
Palpatine's backstory.
Sue Rostoni stated that: "I'm sure you've noticed that the Plagueis novel is
not listed. It's true. The novel has been cancelled. We decided that this was
not the right time to delve into Palpatine's back story and Plagueis's
beginnings. You'll still see Jim Luceno around, though, as he's an author we are
not willing to lose."
Maybe this means that an upcoming TV show or video game will be delving more
into Plagueis's background. Why else would they cancel a highly anticipated
novel like this one? Only time will tell. |

Movies Section
Updated |
Today I have updated the Movies Section with a new Fan Film entitled
Ryan vs. Brandon. Ryan Vs.
Brandon was first released to the internet as part of the Lightsaber
Choreography Competition at Theforce.net. I am not sure of the exact year, but I
believe it was around 2005 or 2006. As with all of Ryan's lightsaber films,
there is no story or dialogue, just pure lightsaber action as good vs. evil!
Enjoy!

The Art of Guy
Lagacé |
Today I have started to update the Guy Lagacé Collection in the Featured Artists section. Guy Lagacé was a
friend of mine that had to suddenly leave the Star Wars arena due to unforeseen
circumstances back in 2003. His art was visionary because he took elements to
make pictures of scenes and characters from the movies that had not yet been
show.
He had a gallery at Aldera.net which is now closed and two galleries at
Jedinet.com that are now gone. I used to be the webmaster for his website called
Binary Sunset where he featured his latest works. I thought I would try to bring
some life back into his works by showing all the pieces I have from his website
in his gallery here at Galactic Voyage.
I will be adding the images to his collection on a regular basis until it is
as complete as possible. The first images that I will bring to you are from
Guy's Climactic
Battlescenes section. I will complete one gallery at a time and try to
present them in the order in which they were given to me. Enjoy!

Featured Artist
Holly Freeman-The Braces of Najus |
Holly has completed a new piece
entitled "The Braces of Najus." She has done some really excellent work creating
these images for a Star Wars Role Playing Game. Thanks Holly! Here is more
information about the picture:
"It chronicles another epic struggle, but this particular RPG combined some
role playing for not only our light-side characters, but our dark side
characters as well...."
THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE:
This was part of an adventure where our Light Side Characters were
in a race with our Dark Side Characters to find some bracers that had been
imbued with dark force energy. The Light Side Characters wanted them so that
they could destroy them, the Dark Side Characters at first wanted them each for
themselves... But when they saw and felt the horrible power it contained and saw
the damage it could do, they too decided to destroy them in the end as
well...
-Tohra and Sevoriah are sisters, of the felinoid race of Trianii
(center); obvious that Sevoriah is darkside, and Tohra is lightside.
-The
character up on the left corner is my bounty hunter, Aurynn AKA Kallen... She's
got her own story, but basically the Empire hired her to assist with the search
for the Bracers.
-The creature up in the right hand corner is a Defel:
Arc Menace is an evil wolf-like creature that is very difficult to see in our
light spectrum, especially in the dark: even in the daylight Defels look like a
shadow.
- Under the left cat (Sevoriah) you can see Chopra, a Twi'Lek who
was assisting the team on the light side... She's a smuggler, not unlike Han
Solo, and hails from Corellia...
- The pink girl to the right of her
(under Tohra) is a Zoltran: similar to Falleen, they have very persuasive
pheremones... I can't remember her name at the moment...
- The two
dueling are Jaycekken (light side) and Sariss (dark side): fortunately they
didn't actually meet, otherwise Jace would've been beaten, simply from lack of
experience. It was all a dream.
-Mariganti is the one having this vision
and is trying to keep his friends safe from the leeching power of the
Bracers...
Thanks for the background Holly! Also, you can find other great
works by more very talented artists at the Featured Artists section. Enjoy! |
