Return To
Tatooine? |
TheNational.ae has a very
interesting article about Tunisia and a possible return to Tatooine in the
Live-Action TV Series? Here is a piece of the article with some interesting
information.
The surprise for us, though, was that we found it (Mos Espa)
bustling with activity. A number of labourers were renovating, repainting and
building new buildings. Ironically, the effort to build these alien structures
was done in a very human way; one man applied plaster with his bare hands,
others sat and smoked in the shade of an alien hall.
One worker who spoke
English, Farouk Ben Ibrahim, came forward to explain. Renovations began back in
December, he said, after an Italian film producer contracted locals. “He gives
us money, and we fix it,” Ibrahim said. “He said there is another part of Star
Wars filming here. In the summer, maybe.”
If true, no one would be more
excited than fans of the series, and that includes Amr bin Amr, a local who has
stood guard over the set since 1997. “George Lucas wore a fox mask so he could
play a part in the film,” Amr said. “This is my responsibility,” he said, waving
his cane at the movie set façades. “I hope they come back, so we can make
money.”
Be sure to read the entire article.

The Clone Wars
Decide Your Destiny Books |
The Official Star Wars Site has
announced a new book series entitled The Clone Wars Decide Your Destiny.
Have you ever wanted to travel from the tangled jungles of Teth to the
desert lands of Tatooine?
Have you ever wondered which way you'd jump if faced with the choice of
becoming a Jedi or turning to the dark side?
You can now battle against the forces of evil or join them should you so
wish, in an incredible new novel format being published by Penguin in the UK
this summer! (North American readers will have to wait a little bit longer, but
Decide Your Destiny will be available there as well.)
The unique Decide Your Destiny series allows readers to make choices to
determine the direction their adventure takes. Not only will they decide which
page they should turn to next but in an amazing twist, they'll be able to
continue the story online with codes that unlock exclusive content at
StarWars.com. Stay tuned for details and links!
The series will launch in the UK in July with The Way of the Jedi and
Tethan Battle Adventure. Both stories will have over 50 choices to make
and can be read over and over again as they won't necessarily end the same way
each time!
I used to really enjoy books like this that let you decide the fate of your
adventure. It should be loads of fun set in the Star Wars Universe!

Guy Lagacé's
George's Visions |
Today I have updated Guy Lagacé's section entitled
George's
Visions. This is the fourteenth image for this section and was Guy's vision
of a scene from Episode II with Count Dooku preparing to decapitate Anakin as
Yoda enters from behind. This scene looks nearly identical to the one that ended
up on screen. Remember that these scenes were created before we had full details
of things to come. Be sure to also see other great artists in the Featured Artists section. Enjoy!
