Christopher Lee To Voice Count Dooku In The Clone Wars

The Official Christopher Lee Website has a conversation going on in their forums that gives us great news!

"I was wondering if anyone knows if Lucasfilm contacted Christopher Lee about voicing Count Dooku? I know Corey Burton did the voice for the TV series and the video games (couldn't hold a candle to CL's voice though) but I thought they might ask him back for another big-screen outing."

Their Administrator answered with the following:

"Mr. Lee has recorded the voice of Count Dooku for this movie a couple of months ago. It was however, the first time he had to lip synch to a character because they had produced the animation before recording his voice."

Fantastic! This movie is really shaping up. Be sure to go see for yourself!

LucasArts Having Trouble

Well, it was a busy week last week for LucasArts. Kotaku.com and Shacknews.com have articles about the companies woes. The reports are that the number of staff affected is around 100, and that the cuts actually began on Wednesday, and continued through into Thursday. Games in the works that may be affected, cancelled, and or outsourced are:

- KOTOR 3 (They say it's an MMO: most likely a joint project between Lucasarts and BioWare)
- Battlefront 3
- "The Official Indiana Jones" game (The one that will use TFU technology)
- "another LEGO game based on the Indy universe"
- "a lightsaber game for the wii (sorry, no lightsaber peripherals)"

Some of these layoffs were near the top and known names in the company. We will keep you updated with more news as it develops.

Growing Up Star Wars

It was a great time to grow up with Star Wars in the late 70's and early 80's. Many of us 30 and 40 something's were "latch key" kids growing up with one parent and they were at work supporting the family. Star Wars was a great fantasy escape from the realities of life and as these pictures show, it sure brings back memories for me. See what it was like to be growing up during that time before Beta, VHS, DVD, etc. when the only way to see Star Wars was at the theaters.
