Featured Artist
Craig Burt-Painting by Numbers 29 |
Featured Artist Craig Burt has provided us
with a breakdown of one of his paintings that provides us with a look into how
the picture came about.
"Purge Scourge"
Here is some of the article created by Craig:
This painting is more recent than most of these. If I remember
it was the first done after seeing Revenge of the Sith and I think it might be
the last ROTS painting in the vein of these that I've done. These days I spend
most of my time doing commissions and have lost most of the urge to do this
style Star Wars paintings under my own steam.
1. Is almost the beginning
and the end of the process for this one. The elements aren't really based on any
actual photo; they are more like the sketches than anything. The painting has a
rough sketch like quality because of this. I actually think I might like the
sketches more than the painting as a result. Most of the characters in the
sketch page made it into the final painting as you can see.
Be sure to read the rest of the article about "Purge
Scourge" in the Painting by
Numbers section. Thanks Craig for another great walkthrough of how this
image came about! Enjoy! |
