Star Wars
AT-AT |
Hasbro has made it official in
their press release!
(Approximate Retail Value: $99.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: August
1, 2010) In space, size does matter, and Hasbro certainly kept that in
mind when creating its all-new, highly detailed STAR WARS AT-AT. The
AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) played a significant role in the Empire’s
military assault in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and it will play an equally
important role in every fan’s toy collection this year! Measuring more than 24
inches tall, nearly 28 inches long, and 12 inches wide, this colossal vehicle
holds up to 20 STAR WARS figures – 6 of which can fit in its head alone!
– and includes so many play and electronic features true to its on-screen
counterpart that it’s hard to believe! From the zip-line in its body and
articulated legs for superb poseability, to its LED lights and authentic movie
sounds and phrases, this is the must-have addition for STAR WARS fans of
all ages. Includes a 3 ¾ inch AT-AT driver action figure and a pop-out speeder
bike.
Be sure to visit StarWars-Descriptions.com to see a couple of images of this
big new vehicle. I always enjoyed my AT-AT when I was younger, and this one
looks great! |

Star Wars #1 For
2009 |
The Official Star Wars Site has
announced that Star Wars maintains the top spot as the #1 licensed toy
and the #1 boys toy property in the US for 2009. It was a competitive year for
boys properties, but Star Wars once again grabbed the top slot,
demonstrating its enormous staying power even after 33 years. With 2009 year-end
figures placing Star Wars 40% ahead of any other toy license, the Power
of the Force continues to thrive, according to industry research company The NPD
Group. U.S. retail toy sales for the license in 2009 exceeded $480M, supported
by all-new episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and a robust collector
market engaged in the live-action Saga. Success in the toy arena continues to
translate to many other licensed product categories, including publishing,
apparel, consumer electronics and housewares. Be sure to read the entire article!

Battlefront
Online |
We all know that Star Wars: Battlefront III seems to have been lost, but Kotaku has reported a rumor that the series lives on, in the
form of currently-in-pre-production Battlefront Online.
"The game, for
the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, is currently being worked on by both Lucasarts
and Slant Six Games, the studio responsible for SOCOM Confrontation and SOCOM
Fire Team Bravo 3.
The title is still in pre-production, so there's no
guarantee that we'll ever hear more of it – Battlefront having become somewhat
of a cursed property after the recent demise of original developers Pandemic and
buy-out of Battlefront III developers Free Radical – but Lucasarts' insistence
on getting a Battlefront game made in spite of all that gives us
hope.
Battlefront Online is, as the name suggests, planned to be
online-only, and is tentatively slated to appear in 2011.
Whether this
game was the source of that "Battlefront IV" concept art that turned up last
year is unknown, but our sources tell us that it is the source of those voice
actor rumors from December."
There isn't any word yet for all of us that still play Battlefront II on PC.
I do hope it makes it to the PC platform! |
