Update! More Info on the Battle Sequence!

We reported about a battle sequence on 9.6.00, and 9.8.00. Today we have more details to give you about this battle. Spoilers - Highlight to read: Remember hearing about the skirmish where the Jedi help Anakin escape the planet and fly off in his ship as they are overrun and killed? We've got a few more details on the scene: A Weequay alien, one of the aliens aboard the skiff in Return of the Jedi, will make an appearance as a Jedi in the movie. Unfortunately, he is killed during the battle. There are other aliens as Jedi too, some familiar, some not.

The location where this all takes place is rumored to be the rock planet. It's been called Ttaz in early drafts, but for now we'll just call it the 'red rock' planet.

Also included in the scene was one guy who played a padawan learner and another character - called "General" - meaning he was just a run the group of Jedi against the opposing forces. He was just an extra, not an important character, but was designed to be in charge of the last stand.

Supposedly (rumor alert!) there were some very nifty martial arts fighting styles with both traditional light sabers and the staff kind as well. There was at least one individual Jedi wielding TWO regular light sabers at once.

They were filmed with tricks like wire harnesses and airrams for the typical athletic Hong-Kong style fighting, actually very similar to the flips and jumps of the Episode I climactic duel.

Supposedly, more Jedi will also be added digitally to the final cut.

There you have it! More great info concerning this battle sequence! As I get more on this, I will pass it on to you. For now, let your imaginations flow! Special thanks to TF.N for the heads up!
