EPIII:
PG-13 Rating Possible |
As
fans of the Star Wars saga wait impatiently for the release of the
final installment due out this May 19, younger fans may be in for
a surprise with the possible PG-13 rating that might be applied to
the movie.
Director George Lucas told ITV news that Star
Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith will probably be the first
installment to receive a PG-13 rating because the movie will be
darker and will feature several violent scenes. The previous 5
Star Wars films were rated PG. A PG-13 rating warns parents that
some material in the film may be inappropriate for children under
the age of 13.
Personally, nothing could please me more than to
see Episode III boast a PG-13 rating. Thanks to Halifax
Live for this news.

Revenge
of the Sith Trailer Reactions |
Well,
the trailer has been out now for nearly 24 hours officially and I
have been trying to gather people’s initial reaction to the
full-length trailer. I can say that everyone I have talked to both
in person and on the Internet has agreed that the trailer was a
resounding success!
Some people have even said that the Episode III trailer is
already better in their mind than all of The Phantom Menace. This
trailer has all of the fans and non-fans alike that have been
skeptical or even disappointed by the Prequel Trilogy saying that
Star Wars is finally back and it seems to be back in a big way.
There is a lot of buzz about Revenge of the Sith forming along
with mounting anticipation. I am sure the hype will only grow from
here and we only have 68 days more to wait! I hope that the wait
will prove to be worth it for all of those who have felt like Star
Wars hasn’t really been back yet. I am sure that this film is
going to rock! And how can it not… We get to see Darth Vader
again!

Dark
Forces Redux |
Dustin
Patar, leader of the Half-Life 2 mod, Dark Forces Redux,
has posted some information on their upcoming mod. Here's what
they had to say:
"A re·dux (rē-dŭks') "Brought back;
returned. Used postpositively."
"Behind a veil of secrecy the evil Empire
is creating a doomsday army--one that, if finished, will become
the final cog in the Empire's arsenal of terror and domination.
Your Mission? Join the Rebel Alliance's covert operations
division, infiltrate the Empire, then battle every man and
machine the Imperial Forces can muster. Search a vast galaxy for
clues, attack enemy bases - all in a desperate attempt to stop
the activation of this fearsome new weapon."
Ten years ago, one man took on the Empire and
saved the Alliance. The original "Dark Forces" by
LucasArts was released in 1995 and for that time, was
groundbreaking. It was this game that originally introduced us
to characters such as Kyle Katarn, and Jan Ors who can now be
found in titles such as "Jedi Outcast". Using todays
technology, methods, and expertise, this total modification for
the "source" engine is aimed at completely overhauling
every aspect of the game. We will be essentially telling the
same tale in all new ways. For those who remember the original,
there will be a chance to immerse yourself in a completly new,
yet familiar environment and those who never played, there will
be a chance to relive a classic tale, with todays standards and
technology. Not only do we know you will be watching, but Justin
Chin will be watching to see what new things we can bring to the
dark forces world, as well. DFR (Dark Forces Redux) will be both
multiplayer and singleplayer, and will add on many things to the
original story. Vehicles, new weapons, and more enemies amongst
many other "additions."
From the deepest canyon on Danuta to the tallest
building in the Imperial City on Coruscant, terror and darkness
lurks behind every corner. Will you be able to once again save
the Alliance? Or will the armies of darkness prevail, destroying
everything you have come to know?"
This Dark Forces mod is looking great! Check out
some of their renders below and visit their site here.

Empire
at War: Questions and Answers |
Empire
at War fansite Petroden recently interviewed Mike Legg, the
man in charge of EaW:
Lion (Petroden): I know your not at liberty to discuss in
detail the current game you are working on, Star Wars: Empire at
War. At the very least, can you tell us what stage of
development the game is currently in, and can we expect any new
info to filter out to the public before the E3 Expo Show in May?
Mike Legg: Star Wars: Empire at War is
coming along really well and we are delighted with the progress.
At this point, all of the major technical features are fully
functional. For the next 4 months, we will be focused on getting
everything wrapped up to be as feature and content complete as
we can - including as much play balancing as possible. The final
3 months will be spent on final play-testing, bug fixing and
polish, so that the game can ship worldwide this fall. As for
E3, I would expect that LucasArts will release more information
around the time of the show in May. We shall see what unfolds...
The game will be here before we know it! Click
here to read the full interview.
