Answered by: Madame Jocasta Nu-Jedi Librarian Master Yoda expressed the same concern over training Luke Skywalker as he did the Chosen One. "He is too old," he told the specter of Obi-Wan. While it is true that ideal Jedi candidates are taken to the temple within their first year of life, the dark times brought forth a most desperate situation. That Yoda, an ardent follower of Jedi Code and traditions, should proceed to train an adult student is evidence of just how direly the galaxy needed a Jedi Knight. Jedi Power
