If Anakin is too old to begin the training at nine, why was it okay to train Luke who was much older?

Master Yoda expressed the same concern over training Luke Skywalker as he did the Chosen One. "He is too old," he told the specter of Obi-Wan. While it is true that ideal Jedi candidates are taken to the temple within their first year of life, the dark times brought forth a most desperate situation. That Yoda, an ardent follower of Jedi Code and traditions, should proceed to train an adult student is evidence of just how direly the galaxy needed a Jedi Knight.
