More on the flying droid!

Today TF.N has added to the story that T'Bone had about Padmé almost being assassinated twice in Episode II. Spoiler - Highlight to read: After the shock of the botched assassination attempt that killed one of her handmaidens, Padmé decides to lure the attackers out. She goes to sleep in her apartment, with R2-D2 quietly sitting nearby, and Anakin standing outside using the Force to watch over her.

A new threat makes it's way through the Coruscant night towards Padmé's apartment. It's an assassin droid, and it's after the young Senator. It latches onto her window, and starts dispensing it's weapons: large, poisonous caterpillar-like creatures called Kouhouns.

By now, Obi-Wan has arrived and is chatting with Anakin, while Captain Typho and other guards patrol downstairs. Anakin has some interesting things to say about Palpatine. Their conversation is stopped short when they become aware of the attack against Padmé. The duo make quick work of the deadly creatures.

The assassin droid attempts an escape, but Obi-Wan sees it. Summoning the courage only a Jedi could, he launches himself out of the window, and onto the droid, thousands of feet above the ground. The droid summons it's killing programming, and discharges electricity all over it's surface, in an attempt to dislodge the hitchhiker. Obi-Wan responds by pulling several cables from the droid.

However, it seems Obi-Wan is not a master electrician. The Jedi and droid plummet several stories before Obi-Wan manages to restore it's power. But the mission isn't over, and the two figures begin a perilous journey through the traffic lanes of Coruscant, on their way to a meeting with the droid's owner...

What a great update! We now have a pretty clear picture of how the assassination attempt goes down! If you have Episode II news, then send me an e-mail!
