Holiday Yoda Figures
Available To All! |
Hasbro's limited-edition Holiday Yoda figure is now available for
all to order, including those who are not members of the Official
Star Wars Fan Club.
Any who have not already ordered Holiday Yoda figures from http://starwars.paizo.com/
can purchase the 3 3/4" scale Yoda dressed in Santa garb. The
figures, which sell for $12.95 each plus shipping charges, come in a
display case and include a full-sized holiday greeting card. Orders
are limited to four figures per person.
Holiday Yoda is the second in a series of Holiday Edition
commemorative figures from Hasbro. This limited-edition collectible
is inspired by the 1980's Lucasfilm holiday greeting card art by
Ralph McQuarrie, the concept artist responsible for much of the look
of the original Star Wars trilogy.
Thanks to
TF.N for the heads up!

Knights of the Old Republic has been awarded the Golden Joystick for
Xbox Game of the Year. KOTOR was also one of two finalists for the
Ultimate Game of the Year. The Golden Joystick awards are voted on
by the fans and then tallied by a committee in association with MTV
UK, Computer and Video Games.com and PC Zone UK.
“To have our efforts recognized by the fans is really an honour
for us. BioWare goes to great lengths to incorporate fan feedback
into each new game and this award acknowledges that our team hit the
mark,” commented Dr. Greg Zeschuk, Joint CEO, BioWare Corp.
Congratulations to the Bioware team on a job well done!

SWG: More Vehicles
Information |
IGN
has posted an article in which LucasArts' producer Haden Blackman
outlines the major features of the upcoming vehicles in Galaxies.
Here's an excerpt:
At release, the player vehicle system will allow galactic explorers
to pilot three different craft: a landspeeder, a swoop bike, and a
speeder bike. All three of these craft are known as "repulsorlift
vehicles" in Star Wars lore. According to Star Wars sources,
repulsorlift vehicles are among the most common vehicles in the
galaxy. They are equipped with engines that produce an anti-gravity
field that allows the vehicle to hover a few feet above the ground.
Even the most primitive propulsion system can move a repulsorlift
vehicle forward; the X-34 landspeeder, which Luke Skywalker once
owned, utilizes three large turbines for forward movement.
Repulsorlift vehicles can travel over multiple types of terrain, a
feature that will enable players to cross Tatooine's expansive
deserts, Naboo's swamps, and even the sulfur pools on hostile Lok.
Our effects artists have endeavored to make riding a vehicle as
immersive as possible: when traveling over water, for example, the
repulsorlift engines will leave visible wakes.
There's a lot more information there, so hit the link above to check
it out. They also have a video of vehicles in action, but it's a
massive 243 MB so it might take a bit to download.

There appears to be a new PS2 Game in the Works for LucasArts, based
on Battlefield 1942. Please note this is all RUMOR. So here are some
points:
- Okay, so in the new EGM, it has something that next issue they
will have a blow out on Star Wars: Battlefront. Reported from other
sites like IGN, and mags like GMR, OPM, and EGM, there is a brand
new Star Wars Battlefield 1942-esque game in work for PS2 Online.
Could this be the Online PS2 Star Wars BF1942 Game?
- The names starwarsbattlefront.com and starwarsbattlefront.net were
both regsitered to Lucasfilm on October 16.
- Star Wars: Imagine The Battle Of Hoth.. But everything on the
battlefield has a real person behind it, playing online with his or
her PS2. This may be a pie-in-the-sky idea, but there are strong
rumors that a Battlefield 1942-esque game is in the works for PS2.
