New Star Wars Exhibition


The Official Star Wars Site has announced "The Science of Star Wars" Exhibition. The Star Wars galaxy is rich with fantastic technology: self-aware droids, faster-than-light starships, and the shimmering brilliance of Jedi lightsabers. For a generation, the films have inspired the imaginations of gifted minds entering technological fields. To spotlight the connection between imagination and innovation, The Museum of Science, Boston and Lucasfilm Ltd. are developing "The Science of Star Wars" Exhibition.

The Exhibition, still in the early planning stages, will use all six Star Wars films as a gateway to understanding the important role of technology in our future. The Museum of Science, Boston is working in conjunction with the Science Museum Exhibit Collaborative -- a consortium of seven US science museums -- and Lucasfilm to develop the touring exhibition that would open in October of 2005 (after the release of the final Star Wars movie, Episode III) -- and tour for approximately three years.
