When does the Queen switch places with the decoy and back again?

This report comes from the Official Star Wars Site!

Answered by: Madame Jocasta Nu-Jedi Librarian

During Senator Palpatine's holographic communication with Theed, it is Queen Amidala who receives him. But, as the monarch is marched out of the throne room and into the courtyard by battle droids, it is actually Sabé in disguise during this sequence. Sabé remains as a decoy during the escape from Naboo, and throughout the stay on Tatooine, while Amidala adopts her handmaiden disguise.

Once arriving on Coruscant, it is Sabé (dressed as the Queen) who greets Senator Palpatine and Chancellor Valorum. At Palpatine's apartments, Padmé and Sabé change places so that it is really the Queen who confers with Palpatine and later addresses the Senate.

Amidala remains as the Queen for the return back to Naboo, but once on planet, she and Sabé switch one last time to meet with the Gungans. It is here that the Queen reveals her true identity and Padmé Amidala prostrates herself before the Gungan leader.
