MoviesMy Favorite Fan FilmsBelow are some of my favorite Fan Films. Be sure to see more great Fan Films that didn't make my personal favorites list.
This fan film was created in 2002 and features a light saber fight sequence with the flavor of a Hong Kong martial arts action movie. This short is set in a dense forest, where a young man, willing to leave his loved ones behind to help fight in the Revolution, clashes with an enemy in a battle where only one will remain standing. Music by Denez Prigent and a monologue extracted from an authentic Civil War love letter written in 1861, help to set the tone for this movie. I really enjoyed the intensity of the fighting, and I am sure you will appreciate it too.
This fan film featuring Boba Fett was created in 1999 and still looks good today! Slave I hurdles toward the Caviet system on route to Tatooine. Boba Fett, satisfied with his prize, does not realize the Empire once again considers Solo a valuable asset, after the escape of Luke Skywalker.
Broken Allegiance was released in April of 2002. The film is set in the Star Wars Universe, taking place a few weeks between the events in A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. It tells the story of two Sith apprentices, Ruan and Calis, who have escape the Empire by fleeing Coruscant in a stolen transport. They must fight for their freedom when Darth Vader sends the vicious bounty hunter Korbain Thor to track them down. This film is very well done and has great effects! A sequel was originally planned and had begun production, but one of the cast members received a great job offer breaking up the team. The film collapsed at that point and the sequel will not become a reality. You can visit their website for more information.
For years, the Sith were thought to be extinct - but on a remote desolate planet, vengeful spirits of chaos have decreed a battle for power, for only through a trial of pain can the hidden Sith masters find one worthy of the title Dark Lord. Two brothers, Wroth and Anarcis, have boasted of their ability to pass the trials - but someone else has also answered the challenge... Lou Klien has been gracious enough to allow us to be a host for this great fan film. I would really recommend downloading this one because it was one of the best films on the Internet in 2004! You can visit their official web site at www.contractofevil.com. Here is some commentary with Lou Klien, the director of "Contract of Evil. Thanks Lou!
The story begins a few centuries after Episode VI, telling about a young Jedi apprentice who lives in a period of great changes in the balance of the force and galaxy. An ancient prophesy convinces the powerful Master Sorran to commence an obsessive search for Eron, a mythical place capable of giving the Chosen One infinite knowledge. For the sake of his obsession many apprentices die, and Sorran is banished and apparently slain by the leaders of his own Order. Centuries later he reappears, as if having learned to deceive death, and discovers the location of Eron with the help of a young apprentice and the reinvigorated Imperial forces. Master Zui Mar and young Hope, who is overshadowed by a terrible secret, are sent to stop him. However, the Council carefully abstain from revealing all that awaits the two warriors, and the terrible destiny they have foreseen for them. In my opinion, this is the best fan film of 2007 hands down! It is cinematically gorgeous, the special effects are great, and the acting is very well done. This is the first episode of two and runs a whopping 60 minutes! The film was made in Italy, so I have provided the version with subtitles, but that won't matter. Trust me! Be sure to visit their website for more information.
Download the On2 Codec Dark Skies was released in August of 2001. It has great computer graphics, especially for its time and a good story about the Skywalkers. Remember, this fan film was made before Attack of the Clones, so it feels like an alternate Episode III. It is a dark time for the Skywalker family. Having seen Anakin consumed by the Dark Side, Amidala is determined to protect her children from a similar fate. Dark Skies culminates in a showdown between Anakin and Amidala over the destiny of their children, with devastating consequences...
Download the New Movie The artist website is www.crewoftwo.com, but is has been down. So, I have decided to host both the original version (my favorite) and the newest version with the new original film score. Duality is a story about a Sith Apprentice that must face the current Sith Lord in a duel to the death for his final trial. Who will win? You might be surprised! This one is a fan favorite and made back in 2000.
Duel is the predecessor and test for Duality. It is a story about a Luke Skywalker type of character that faces a Sith Lord in a duel on what appears to be Tatooine. This is a film that I have had for quite sometime and still enjoy. I believe it was created in 1999. I also noticed that I didn't see it anywhere else anymore and I felt that it was a good film that needed to be available for the fans. Enjoy!
This fan film called Duel is different from the other of the same name. It is presented more like a trailer for an upcoming film, but this is the film. It focuses on a Jedi and a pair of Sith that do battle on a remote planet. This film was created in 2003. I think the effects were very well done and the camera work is good. You can visit their website for more information.
Essence of the Force was a fan film created in 2001. A group of marauders have assaulted the peaceful planet Doozadu, enabling their leader, the evil Mewey Maul (you've heard of his half brother) and his band of mercenaries to seek the planets most prized possession, the very essence of the Force. They have done this knowing full well that this treasure is under the protection of the Jedi Order. This is a great film with a bit of a twist at the end.
Immolation is a fan film that made its debut on the Internet in 2009 and takes place during the Knights of the Old Republic era. Run time is 47 minutes. During the apex of Sith power during the great Jedi Civil War, just before infighting tore the Sith Order apart, a young recruit was apprenticed to lead a life with the Brotherhood that he had not fully embraced. Failing his last and most important trial, the Brotherhood deemed him unfit to be Sith and hunted him to a snowy training world inside Sith Space to exterminate him; to make him an example of those who fail.
I.M.P.S.: The Relentless is a fan film that made its debut on the Internet in 2005. I.M.P.S. (Imperial Military Personnel Stories) shows troops that serve on the Revenge-class Star Destroyer Relentless as it goes on patrols and missions. Join a patrol squad from the Imperial Urban Army on their final assignment for the day. Not a job for the light hearted, these hardened soldiers put their lives on the line as they clean up the dark streets and dangerous corridors of Davenport Gateway. Originally slated to be Troops 2, I.M.P.S. took on a more serious tone. While no longer a specific parody like Troops, the film does have some humor and homage to a variety of other popular films. This fan film has fantastic original music and professional visual effects. You can visit their website for more information.
I.M.P.S.: Norca System is a fan film that made its debut on the Internet November 27, 2009. I.M.P.S. (Imperial Military Personnel Stories) shows troops that serve on the Revenge-class Star Destroyer Relentless as it goes on patrols and missions. After a long wait, Chapter 2 again really delivers on original music and professional visual effects. As always, the film has some great light humor. If you have younger viewers, there is some mild language to be aware of as there are conversations that you would typically find in a military unit. Join the 181st Mechanized Armor Assault Division as they drop for ground assault on Norca II. You can visit their website for more information.
Join The Empire was a fan film created in 1998 by Marco Spitoni. It is staged like a commercial to get you to join the Empire like in the old World War II ad campaigns. I noticed that this fan film had pretty much disappeared from the Internet, but it is still one of my favorites. Don't forget to stay around during the credits to see the 3D models and meshes. Join The Empire was originally in a Bink Smacker format, but I converted it to a more widely used file type. This film is a true testament to Marco's creativity because you will notice the CG has stood the test of time. That is a hard thing to do these days and in terms of computer graphics, 1998 was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
Makazie One is a fan film that made its debut on the Internet in September of 2009. It is a great film that features the voice of Jay Laga'aia. As with most fan films, be sure to watch additional footage after the credits. You can visit their website for more information. Set in the Star Wars Universe during the time period between Episodes 3 and 4, an elite soldier has been sent to track down and destroy a known threat to the Empire through intense ground battles and haunting imagery of death that surround the environment. The unsuspecting enemy to the Imperial Order has no idea what he is up against when the two finally meet for an action packed surprise ending.
Reign of the Fallen was a great fan film that was released in 2006. In the times since great wars laid waste to Prias, its people have learned to embrace a simple life, away from the perils of technology and war. As the mighty Sith army spreads across the galaxy, subjugating every planet in its path, all the people of Prias can do is wait, their world protected by an energy planetary shield held in place by ancient towers. While the people wait in fear, one Jedi trained by Master Oram Bren will be chosen to be the future leader of Prias, a title decided by a vote of the entire population of the planet. But little do they know that one Jedi's dark secret could spell their doom. You can visit their website for more information.
Revelations was probably the best fan film released in 2005. Running at 47 minutes, you get a great space chase and plenty of good vs. evil. Also, there is an original film score which you can download in our Music section! The story takes place between Episodes 3 and 4 of the Star Wars Saga. Emperor Palpatine's power has spread throughout the galaxy and Darth Vader is a feared figure. The Jedi are hunted fugitives and anyone suspected of harboring Jedi or having any information about them is taken into Imperial custody.
Ryan vs. Dorkman (often abbreviated by fans as RvD) was first released to the Internet on March 1, 2003. There is no story. It is all pure lightsaber action! It features good and evil in an industrial setting, with some lightsaber moves that had not been attempted until that time. You can visit their website for more information.
Ryan vs. Dorkman 2 (often abbreviated by fans as RvD2) was released to the Internet on March 1, 2007. As with the first film, RVD2 is all pure lightsaber action and it is way more intense! It again features good and evil in an industrial setting, with greatly enhanced lightsaber moves, and effects. You can visit their website for more information.
Ryan Vs. Brandon was first released to the Internet as part of the Lightsaber Choreography Competition at TheForce.net. I am not sure of the exact year, but I believe it was around 2005 or 2006. As with all of Ryan's lightsaber films, there is no story or dialogue, just pure lightsaber action as good vs. evil!
Ryan Vs. Brandon 2 was released to the Internet on January 28, 2011 and is the sequel to Ryan Vs. Brandon. It again features good and evil and is set in an industrial setting instead of outdoors as was displayed in the first film. The film showcases great lightsaber action, and special effects. The first film did not end well for Ryan. Will he redeem himself? You must watch and see!
![]() Download: SOD Part 1-89 MB SOD Part 2-78 MB SOD Part 3-71 MB Seeds of Darkness was one of the best fan films on the Internet in 2001. Running at 25 minutes, you get your space battle and your Jedi battle rolled into one film. Also, the original film score rules which you can download in our Music section! It is a Dark time for the Republic. Senator Palpatine has declared himself Emperor and has begun to systematically eliminate the Jedi. However on a remote planet in the outer rim territory there is a lone Jedi Master who knows secrets about the Emperor and his resurrection of the Sith. The Emperor has foreseen that this Jedi could be his downfall. ![]() Download: Part 1-83.5 MB Part 2-81.5 MB Sins of the Jedi was first released to the Internet in 2004. The story takes place ten years after the fall of Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi are being systematically destroyed by the Empire. Three of the remaining Jedi Knights search the galaxy for a safe haven from the wrath of the Emperor, as well as a known traitor to their own kind. There were going to be three parts, but I am not sure Part 3 will make it to fruition. The Sins of the Jedi website is no longer active. We will have to wait and see.
This fan film was created in 2003. If you would like to download a smaller version of this movie, be sure to head over to www.ImpulseTV.com! In a galaxy where Barian Pirates threaten the colonization of new worlds, freighter pilots called "Akunos" make their living by transporting valuable cargo and people through treacherous territory. To most people, these Akuno pilots are a breed of tough, gritty mercenaries who are best left alone. To the kids on Science Vessel 424, Akunos are the coolest things around. Alex Razor and Sarah Heart are no different. They are two adventurous 15-year-olds who are more interested in winning the next Skimmer race than doing their homework. Their biggest fan is Daniel Tibor, a quiet, 12-year-old, who’s part alien and new to the space colony. One day, Alex loses control of his Skimmer and nearly crashes into an Akuno ship, piloted by Brolin Wild. The kids are certain they will be punished until Barian Pirates attack the science vessel. All hell breaks loose and a Spider Droid disables Alex’s Skimmer. Sarah and Daniel turn to Brolin for help. He agrees and they all climb aboard his spaceship, the Starship Akuno. Our heroes manage to recover Alex and his Skimmer, but the colonists take emergency action and launch their science vessel into deep space – leaving Sarah, Alex and Daniel behind on the Starship Akuno with Brolin. All hope is lost until they discover an ancient alien artifact that, when held in Daniel's hands, turns into a holographic star chart which holds the key to finding their lost parents. So now, the newly formed crew of the Starship Akuno journeys from one end of the galaxy to the other with the hopes of some day being reunited with their missing families. Along the way, they find adventure, discover new worlds and learn valuable lessons about life.
The original Star Wars Kid film was created in 2003. There have been tons of recreations and alterations of this video, but this film was very well edited using scenes from Episode IV. Star Wars Kid-Drunken Jedi Master
The original Star Wars Kid film was created in 2003. There have been tons of recreations and alterations of this video, but this is one that did the effects very well. It portrays Ghyslain Raza as a Drunken Jedi Master deflecting incoming laser bolts.
Tales of the New Republic was a film released with much anticipation on May 25, 2007. There was a lot of speculation at the time that this film was a trailer for The Clone Wars 2008 series. It was actually a class project at The Digital Animation & Visual Effects School in Orlando, FL and I am sure it was done to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. The film plays like an animated trailer for a possible new series and is very well done. A must see!
The Granddaddy of Star Wars fan films, Troops made its debut on the Internet in 1997. The film is a parody of COPS, set in the Star Wars universe. In the film, Imperial stormtroopers from the infamous Black Sheep Squadron patrolling the Dune Sea on the planet Tatooine run into some very familiar characters while being filmed for the hit Imperial TV show Troops.
Driven by revenge, Boba Fett has helped The Empire hunt down and destroy the last of the known Jedi Knights. But with his prize close at hand, the final truth will lead him to an ultimate showdown with the darkest power in the Galaxy. This fan film was created in 2005. |
