The Star Wars: TIE Fighter Video Game was the sequel to Star Wars: X-Wing, and the first game of the series that puts the player on the side of the Galactic Empire. The game was was released in July of 1994. The game begins soon after the Battle of Hoth, and with the expansions lead up to the Battle of Endor. The player assumes the role of a rookie TIE pilot, whose name in the player's guide is given as Maarek Stele.
