Anakin Skywalker waited impatiently for his young wife Senator Padme Nebarrie Skywalker. Through the pouring rain he could just make out her wet figure. She had stopped to admire a pool of rainwater forming at the base of an exquisite Nubian statue. Irritated at being kept out in the storm Anakin hurried back to her side. " Padme come on we need to get going." The Jedi padawan yelled to be heard above the rain and thunder. Taking her small hand in his own he started pulling her towards the beautiful summer house just a few yards away. He didn't notice the look of disappointment that flashed across the senator's young face.

Once inside Anakin turned to the drenched senator. " What were you thinking? Look at you you're soaked." His voice was full of love and worry. Padme dropped her gaze. " I love storms Ani, they remind me of you." She said so softly that the Jedi had to lean down to hear. He hid his pleased grin by replying gruffly. " That's no excuse love. You could have become ill. Why don't you go change?" The last he suggested in a softer tone. She nodded and hurried down the marble hall. Anakin glanced at the floor and saw a small puddle of rain water where Padme had been standing. Shaking his head Anakin went to go find a towel.

The next few days went by quickly for Anakin as he spent countless hours just watching his young wife as she negotiated treaties for the new queen of naboo. Her logical thinking fascinated him and he couldn't help but marvel at her personality. Anakin had come to realize she was more precious than a Desje crystal and much more beautiful. Shaking his head in wonder he returned his focus to the treaty at hand. As a Jedi he would be called upon to witness if either side broke the treaties. She was his forever. He thought with awe as he watched her stand up and give a short speech.

That night Anakin waited, quietly in the main room of their quarters, for Padme. It was almost time for their evening walk around the lake. A sharp warning from the force caused him to jump up his lightsaber instantly in hand. Drawing on the force the apprentice searched for the cause of the warning. To his surprise it centered on Padme's dressing room. Running forward he tried the door to her room, but it was jammed shut. " Padme get out of there!" Anakin cried out as he struggled with the door. He heard the sound of glass chattering a frightened scream. " Padme!" he yelled activating his saber the young man proceeded to cut a jagged hole in the doors. Stepping through he could see a bloody body lit up by the light from his weapon. Running forward he knelt next to the body rolling it carefully over he was horrified to see Padme's dead face contorted in an expression of pain. She had been stabbed multiple times in the throat and chest. Looking away from the site Anakin started sobbing. By this time multiple alarms had went off and the sound of running feet filled the large building. Anakin heard none of it, all he could think of was Padme. His wife...and of the terrible revenge he would have.

(Padme's killer was never found)

Anger and hatred drove Ani to follow the path of the darkside. His young wife never gave birth and the galaxy fell into complete chaos and darkness for over millennia before the light was introduced once more but by that time the Jedi and their ideals had been long forgotten. The dark rulers of the galaxy were all Anakin’s descendents, he had married Mara Jade and together they had one son.
