At Any Price

Disclaimer. I do not own any of the characters from star wars, but I do however own Amaya :p lol
“So many innocent souls lost
to the dark side, the Sith are taking control Master Yoda and the Jedi are being
killed off, what are we against the Sith?”
Amaya asked curiously, her pretty green eyes shone brightly with
curiosity. She had often wondered
why there was need to fight, for power, for land maybe?
She had never quite understood every fine printed detail herself, but she
was sure her Master Yoda could explain it to her.
Yes, Amaya was a Quarton of the great Master Yoda, one of the most wise
and powerful Jedi Masters of all time. It
was quite an honor that she would receive her Jedi training from him.
“ Curious you are little
Padawan, questions you ask will be understandable in time, but now, much to
young are you. “ Master Yoda
replied with a slight hint of a chuckle in his voice.
Oh how at her young age Amaya always adored the old Whill for he was much
like a father to her, raising her, teaching her and perhaps once in a while
scolding her for doing what a Jedi would not do.
Dare she say she loved Yoda in a daughterly way.
Amaya had always been very curious as a young child, strong and bold, but
she still held a certain sincerity that made her special in her own way.
Not to mention how high her midchlorian level was.
Yoda had agreed to train her in Jedi arts even though she was a little
older than she should have been, which confused her a tad since any other child,
putting aside Anakin Skywalker, had been denied access to be trained.
Amaya was jarred out of her thoughts as she heard Master Yoda speak to
her once more.
“ Dismissed are you Quarton Padawan. “
Yoda said, than got up from his meditating stance to walk towards the
door.
“ If you don’t mind
Master Yoda, can I go and visit Padme? I
haven’t seen her in such a long time!”
Amaya practically begged her mentor, giving him the sweetest puppy-dog
eyes ever. She hoped he would give
her his blessing to go see her friend from childhood.
As she seen Master Yoda bow his head to her, she bowed back, then swiftly
left the room, her long thick brunette hair swung in the breeze.
She fiddled with the Padawan’s braid wound in her hair as she waited
for Padme to open the door to her quarters.
As the door opened, the duo laid eyes on each other for a moment,
studying, then quickly hugged in a warm greeting.
“ Amaya!
It’s been far to long, please come in, I’m sure Ani would be just as
equally happy to see you as I am.” Padme
said with a bright smile, her left hand was caressing her stomach.
Amaya’s heart throbbed at the mention of Anakin’s name, for Amaya had
always held a crush on him. Though,
to her dismay, Anakin’s heart belonged to Padme.
Amaya had always taken care not to fall in love, for the Jedi were not
permitted to love. Love could
result in fear and jealousy and could grow into anger in hate, leading you down
the dark path. Master Yoda and
Amaya had once had a most unpleasant encounter with a Sith Lord once who went by
the name of Darth Sidious. They had
indeed worked to gather like pupil and teacher to give time for Palpatine to
flee the scene before any harm came to him.
Amaya didn’t very much trust Palpatine and was quite wary of him asking
Anakin to become his personal bodyguard.
Amaya stepped through the door and was greeted by a warm embrace from
Anakin, making her heart sore like a bird.
She knew now that Anakin had become an actual Jedi Knight, no longer a
Quarton like herself. She prayed
that she didn’t seem like childs play to him,
for she herself had given most of her sparring partners a run for their
money when practicing the art of the lightsaber.
“ Anakin, it’s great to
see you again! I heard about your
fancy maneuvers in piloting, Master Yoda said you are a very good pilot. “
Amaya said, busying her floating mind with small talk and trying not to seem
uncomfortable under his enticing crystal blue stare.
She had often found herself getting lost in those eyes of his, telling
herself not to get to attached to him or she perhaps may find herself serving
the Sith.
“ Did you now?
You’re not to bad of a pilot yourself. “
He said with a mischievous glint in his eyes, his hand slinking itself
around Padme’s waist. Amaya
forced herself not to stare, for
she might be caught in the act.
Amaya snorted, “ Yeah, right, if I had been up there piloting a fighter
ship I would have been blown to bits in a matter of seconds.
You of all people Anakin should know that I am more tactful and better
off on the ground.”
A quiet laugh came from the duo in front of her as they listened to her
words with mild amusement. How did
Amaya know Anakin and Padme you ask? How
had she gone so far as to befriend them? They
went back a very long way indeed, from the time when Padme was Queen of the
Naboo, not just a senate as she is now. Shortly
after Anakin and Padme had arrived here at Naboo, Amaya was introduced to them
by Master Yoda. Amaya would always
secretly thank the old Jedi Master for doing so, for Amaya would have indeed
been quite lonely. She was a good
young Padawan, rarely did she ever disobey her master.
Amaya could be a little bit strong headed but she had patience, something
that Anakin never had.
After what seemed like hours of talking, Amaya finally had the guts to
pull Anakin aside to speak with him privately, not wanting to upset Padme with
her words. She stared at him for a
long moment before finally saying what was on her mind, laying her words down
carefully so that she did not upset Anakin.
“ Anakin, I do not trust
this Palpatine, for I sense a corruption in the force when he is near, so does
Master Yoda. Don’t become to
attached to him, I beg you.” Amaya
pleaded, her voice was strong yet
inside she felt as though she was crumbling.
What kind of chosen one would Anakin be if he became a Sith?
Amaya had the hypothesis that Palpatine was a Sith, and hoped Ani would
not be turned by his deceiving lies.
She say Anakin’s stare become stern and hard, not like it usually was
and inwardly sighed. He had become
so moody every since he was appointed Palpatine’s Personal Bodyguard.
“ I can assure you Padawan Amaya, that Palpatine will not change me.
I have befriended him and he is an ally to the Jedi Council.”
Anakin spoke his words a little harshly at her, but Amaya just ignored
his tones and began to walk away.
