Kyle
Katarn walked into the briefing room in the
‘Kyle,
you bring news of Jaden?’ Skywalker asked, using the Force to tap into
Kyle’s thoughts. Jaden Korr had been a student of the Academy, sent on a
mission to stop Dessans’ apprentice Tavion from a resurrecting a long dead
Sith Lord called Ragnos. He became over run with anger and turned to the dark
side, destroying Ragnos, and lancing out on his own. He was a danger to the
galaxy.
‘You
know Luke; you’ve got to teach me to do that some time. Any way, no more
updates. After stealing that Star Destroyer, he’s been hyping all over the
galaxy. He’s been seen at Bakura; Talasea; even Endor. There’s no pattern to
these appearances, and we’re starting to get worried.’
Luke turned to face Kyle.
‘Our
Bothan friends in the Kuat system have given us some intriguing information. A
man under the name of Sagnor Nadej has purchased fifteen A-wings, twenty
B-wings, and two Mon Calamari escort cruisers. Artoo has recognized that the
buyers name is an anagram of both Ragnos and Jaden. Kyle, this is bad news.
Whatever Jaden is planning, it’s going to be big.’ Luke said, solemnly.
‘Agreed.’
Kyle said. ‘We need to get after him.’
Luke
began to walk out of the room, and gave Kyle some instructions.
‘Take
your apprentice Sive Naban, and go to the most frequent sighting of this new
fleet:
Vjun.’
Kyle was
stunned.
‘Long
time no see. If it’s going to be as dangerous as when I took Jaden, we better
go in covert.’ Said Kyle.
‘Good
luck, and May the Force be with you.’ With that Luke exited.
Sitting
in the cockpit of the Ravens’ Claw, Sive Naban practiced his
meditation, while Kyle flew the ship.
‘Keep
your mind on the weather system Sive’ Kyle ordered. ‘It’s hard to see
through this acid rain and fog.’
‘Yes
Master.’ Sive replied.
At that
moment, he felt a crackle of energy fill his nerves, and he shouted out,
‘Master,
an ion bolt is coming right for us!’
They were hit head on, and, as the ship flailed out of control, Kyle
shouted, ‘Focus all of the Force on the engines!’
Then the warning lights flashed….
